Love Letters by G. R. Gurney was a smash hit on and off Broadway.
It tells the story of a man and a woman through their life-long correspondence. Their attachment remained strong during college, the war years and careers. They briefly become involved, go their separate ways, continue to share confidences – leaving the audience speculating on whether the two will get together again. The two actors read letters aloud about their lives – their hopes, ambitions, dreams, disappointments, victories and defeats, which have passed between them throughout their separate lives. Their very funny letters give insight into what it means to have a life-long friendship
