Featured Business - The Rekindled Roost owned by Karen Marion
Meet Karen Marion, a woman who turned a challenge into an opportunity for creativity and entrepreneurship. After suffering some vision loss and no longer being able to drive, Karen didn’t let that set her back but decided to further explore her already artistic side!
Setting up a workshop in her home, Karen began upcycling everyday items into unique gifts, centerpieces, window displays, and bridal arrangements. Her talent was quickly noticed which led to custom orders and a contract with a local assisted living center for holiday decor.
With her small business growing, Karen has begun displaying her wares at shows – two of which are coming up! On May 4 you can find Karen at Maynard Nutrition, 43 Nason St. in Maynard from 9:00 – 2:00 and on June 22nd at the Tyngsborough-Dunstable Historical Society’s 51st Annual Strawberry Festival!
Next step for Karen – teaching workshops on upcycling, encouraging others to tap into their creativity and see the potential in the things around them! Congratulations Karen! You are an inspiration!!
