Laura Shifrin, Founder/Owner of Townsend Center Realty
Born in the heart of New York City and raised in the charming town of Rochester, I made my way to Townsend in 1976 to build a family. In just two short years, I embarked on a journey into the dynamic world of real estate, merging my diverse work experiences. The real estate industry, with its ever-changing markets and challenges in the home buying and selling process, has never failed to keep me on my toes.
I approach each step in this process with unwavering patience and knowledge, having weathered numerous market cycles. My mission is to assist everyone from first-time homebuyers to retirees looking to downsize in achieving their real estate dreams. Over the years, my clients have become not just business partners, but friends who are like family.
Community involvement has always been my guiding principle, as I firmly believe that one can’t complain if they’re not actively engaged. I’ve taken this principle to heart, serving as an elected or appointed official in various capacities within the town government, including Assessor, Housing Authority, Planning Board, Town Properties, Finance Committee, and Capitol Planning, among others. I’ve also dedicated my time to local, state, and national REALTOR associations and affiliated organizations, all while remaining steadfast in my religious beliefs.
For me, I’m fortunate to have the best of both worlds. My career isn’t work; it’s a gift and an opportunity to continually make meaningful contributions to the world around me.
